THINGS TO DO IN MÜ: 11-14 SEPTEMBER

Munich seems to be awakening from the summer hole, and so are we. As our new member of the family is about to turn three months, we are finally finding the strength to look around what's happening in the city (otherwise we'd easily spend the whole day just staring at the little one, it's hard to beat this kind of entertainment at the moment).

Thursday, 11 September:
CRITICAL MEDIA EXHIBITION: The ISMAR Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality is taking place in Munich this year. Unfortunately the conference is rather pricey, but the exhibition Beyond the Interface which is part of it is totally free, hidden in the labyrinth of the TU. It is curated by the lovely people from the Furtherfield Gallery, London, and shows artwork of Julian Oliver (one of the Critical Engineers Duo whose work I just love), Nick Briz (a glitch art expert and co-organiser of Chicago Glitch Festival), Heath Bunting and many others. It is such a rare opportunity to see this type of critical media art in Munich, so don't miss out! Arcisstr. 21. Open Thu: 10am - 5pm, Fr: 10am - 4pm. Free!

BIKE REPAIR: There's the next Bike Kitchen Gathering at Werkbox 3. Come with your bike and get useful repair tips. Grafinger Str. 6. Starts at 7pm. Free!

Friday, 12
September:
FOOD + GIG: The Import Export team, well known in Munich's cultural scene, is setting up a new project called Import Export Kantine. It will be located at the Kreativquartier from 12 September until 18 October. For the opening they are planing a jazz session by The Müller and Osthold-Duo, combined with soul kitchen pleasures by Sven Kathmandu Christ. In the evening there will be a party with Dompteur Mooner. Dachauerstr. 112. Starts at 12pm. Party from 8pm. Free!

Saturday, 13 September:
UKRAINIAN CHARITY BAZAAR: There will be a bazaar with hand-made crafts by Ukrainian artists, including traditional embroidery, ceramics, paintings, etc. Part of the profit will be donated to support people in Ukraine. Come marvel at the beauty of traditional Ukrainian ornaments and help people in need! Schönstr. 55. 11am - 6pm.

Sunday, 14 September:
OPEN HOUSE: It's Monument Day in Munich's public buildings again! Visit all the intriguing locations you always wished to peep into, like Anatomische Anstalt in Pettenkoffer Str, Borstei in Dachaer Str, Schlacht- und Viehhof and many others! Check out the full map here.
