THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND: 16-18 OCTOBER 2015

Our observation is that there only two ways in Munich: either there is nothing going on and you've got no clue where to go, or everything is happening at the same time, and you wish you could clone yourself and send each copy to a different event... So, this upcoming weekend it's luckily the second case. Brace yourself!

Throughout the weekend:

OPEN ART STUDIOS: This weekend artists in Westend are opening their studios for visitors. Even if you are a lowbrow, it's incredibly exciting to sneak into all those secret cellars, backyards and other gems hidden away from the streets. Make sure to pay a visit to Positive Propaganda, who are making an incredible job by bringing world-class street art to Munich!

TV SHOWS FESTIVAL: From 15 until 18 October Seriencamp is taking place at HFF (Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen, Bernd-Eichinger-Platz 1). They are screening 20 series from all over the world, there will also be talks, lectures, panel discussions... and it's all for free! Check out the full programme here.

Friday, 16 October:
DIGITAL ARTS FESTIVAL: On Friday and Saturday Gasteig will be hosting another year of DigitalAnalog festival. Come to see numerous bands, VJ-artists and performers. We highly recommend to turn up for Beißpony's gig (experimental female duo with one member based in Munich and the other one in Oxford/London) at 8.30pm. And it's all for free! Check out the programme and just turn up.

BABY FLEA MARKET: If you've got children, you know how quickly they tend to grow and how they end up wearing jackets, shoes or anything else just a couple of months until the things become too small. And you either want to get rid of piles of clothes in your cellar or get something the new season, which will not cost you a fortune. This is why baby flea markets are such a great invention! This weekend there are several taking place. One of them will open its doors today in Lehel, Pfarrsaal St. Anna, 2pm-5pm. They also promise some coffe & cakes.

Another flea market is on Saturday, and it's taking place in Preysinger Str. 48, Haidhausen. There will be autumn and winter clothes (sizes 50 - 134), toys and books. 9am-12pm. (pregnant can come starting from 8.30am)

Saturday, 17 October:
ARTS AT NIGHT: It's time for another Lange Nacht der Museen again! For the 17th time numerous museums open their doors from 7pm-2am. Tickets cost 15€ and include MVV public transport, and the special shuttle service for the night. There are several walking routes with maps, as well as a special programme for children from 2pm on Saturday. Our personal pick is the photo exhibition of Sebastiao Salgado at Versicherungskammer Bayern. (The exhibition itself will be open until 24 January though, so plenty of time.) If you have seen Wim Wenders' astonishing film "Das Salz der Erde", you will highly enjoy it.
